This is just the beginning!
I've been passionate about mastering personal finance since I first came upon my all time favourite blog, Mr Money Mustache. Before the fateful day that I discovered Mr. Money Mustache, I didn't know how I was going to get out of debt, get off the consumer treadmill and live without worry. Deep down, I knew I wasn’t here to live a mediocre life. I wanted to learn how to keep and build wealth.
Before Mr. Money Mustache, I was pretty great at keeping up the outward appearance of having money. My friends seemed to have endless cash or trust funds. Spending a lot of money on going out and looking cool was normal. This lifestyle made it nearly impossible to save money every month, let alone make a dent in my student loans.
When I came across Mr Money Mustache and learned that he retired by 30, the possibilities for my own life exploded. My goal to be financially independent became crystal clear. I got to work paying off debt and started an aggressive savings plan.
Now, there's a big difference between wanting something and getting it. And when your biggest goal is 10 years (or more) in the future, it takes a community of committed, like-minded folks to keep each other on track.
That's where The Money Edit comes in. This is my passion project - an online space to think about how we, as women, take charge of our money and our future.
This is part of a bigger conversation around money, women, success, life, love and all that lies in between.
I'm so glad you're here!
